Bizen-Yaki High Cup
The oldest pottery tradition in japan, bizen-yaki ceramics are made from soil collected in the okayama region and then fired in a wood kiln that is kept constantly burning over the course of two weeks.
The unique rust and earthen hues in these cups, called sangiri, comes from the combination of high iron content of the soil being exposed to ash during the long firing process.
Only 100 cups are fired every six months and currently we're the only stock lists in SE of this design. Hand-fired in okayama, japan.
Each cup receives a season stamp & batch number on the package.
Hand made cups are not dishwasher or microwave safe.
